In just a few days, on June 10th, Big Mike Trading forum will turn 1 year old.
This forum was created to help my fellow traders by providing them a community that was truly committed to each other. Through that commitment, each trader has gained more experience, wisdom and insight into the market because, as you guys have found out, when you start to educate or teach someone else you also directly benefit yourself. It takes a lot more work to teach than to be a student.
Over the past year we have literally grown by leaps and bounds. I've spent at least 50 hours a week dedicated to improving the forum over the past year, and I believe that hard work shows (pat on back ). But, the real triumph is in what the community -- you guys -- have also worked so hard to build. Thousands of you have spent countless hours on the site: answering posts, sharing new indicators and strategies, formulating methods, and working together to become better traders. I also want to thank all of the moderators who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes with me to help make BMT a well-oiled machine.

Here on BMT, we truly have a unique community -- and it is all thanks to you! We have a very strong bond, especially within the Elite user base (those who have donated to support the site). That bond resonates above and beyond what you will ever find elsewhere and is what makes BMT so unique. You don't have to look at very many of the tens of thousands of posts here to see evidence of everyone genuinely helping each other, a rarity indeed with most online communities. Great job, guys!
In the past year, we have all been in this together and have worked to help each other, and in so doing we've also greatly helped ourselves become better traders. I had a vision from the very first day I started the forum that if I could convince people to get behind the concept of "Pay It Forward", and provide a site that was both welcoming to new traders yet advanced enough for power traders, I knew the site would be a great success. And it has been!
To celebrate, we have some fantastic events in store throughout the month of June. I've been working with five companies for this event, and they are (in alphabetical order): Al Brooks, DTN/IQFeed, Mirus Futures, MultiCharts, and NinjaTrader.
We'll be giving away over $4,000 of trading-related prizes!
The specifics about each prize, and how you can with them, are listed below. I also want to let you know that each of the five companies above will be conducting a special webinar presentation on Big Mike Trading where they will be speaking about their product or service, as well as answering questions. Some of them are going to discuss new products and features, and I know a lot of you have many questions that you would like to get answered... Need help? 1) Stop changing things. No new indicators. No new charts. No new methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first. 2) Start a journal and post to it every day with the trades you made. It will show your strengths and weaknesses. 3) Set goals for yourself that you can reach every day. Make them about how you trade, and not about how much money you make. 4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance. You must look within. 5) Have a question? Create a new thread so the community can help.
