If you are using IB, you may want to take a look at this Using [AUTOLINK]Multicharts[/AUTOLINK] to compare IB Vs CQG

So how does MC tend to be around new releases in terms of bugs and such? Should I install right now or wait for 8.1?

MC tends to be fairly stable. I have been using MC8 since the early betas with no issue. I also did this for MC7.

Sometimes there was variances in terms of memory usage, but that was the only noticeable thing for me.

That is just my experience though...

Daniel

Yes, you can use C# DLL's in EasyLanguage.

If you look towards the end of the thread " Educated by Randomness" I have an example of using an external function in a DLL within EasyLanguage.

Thanks Mike, but as I understand it from the "Eduated by Randomness"-thread, that C# dll didn't work. Do you, or someone else, knows about a working example of calling a C# dll in PowerLanguage? I sadly couldn't find any, so any suggestions appreciated.

Issue was 32-bit vs 64-bit binary. I've not really done much more work with MultiCharts.

Is a T&S going to be included in this release?

MultiCharts 8 is already released, but the T&S isn't included - actually, it's isn't even scheduled to be included in any future version.

See this and this project management issue. The first mentioned feature request is apparently already 1.5 years old so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Anyone know what the RAM requirements are for this program? I.e., suppose you want to import, chart, and backtest a 5 GB historical tick data file; how much RAM does MC draw on to do this? I ask because I've seen a program that needs to have available RAM equal to to about 10x the size of the file you are importing; so with, for instance, 16 GB of RAM (leaving 15 available after the system), you are limited to importing and working on about a 1.5 GB tick file.
