I have always wanted to learn how to day trade but just don't know where to start. Looking forward to reading some of what other traders are doing.

Here is a good place to start, discussing with other traders, and you can find so much clues, and very variated stuff

Hey everyone. Ive tried trading a few times, penny stocks (which sucked), then day trading momentum stocks (limited success), then options (which is proving difficutl). Not sure where else to go as I am about to blow up my account with options. I hear it happens to everyone but still sucks. Which means I will be paper trading for the next few months.

Hello,
So as the tittle says, this is my first post. I'm relatively new to trading, I studied in finance in university and took I a few trading courses there. There is something that is very appealing to me to be able to trade for myself for a living. Working in the actual finance industry doesn't interest me at all. I've always liked doing my own thing. As far as trading experience goes, I've been dabbling in options trading since 2010, and at first I made a little money. I actually got overzealous and was trading too much for my knowledge level at the time. Luckily, fate forced me to sell all my positions because I needed the money. Soon after doing that, most of my (former) positions tanked. As of late, I actually quadrupled my account in the span of a little more than a year using only options, only to lose it all in a few months. I stayed away for a year after that. In the past couple of months I started up again and I've lost a quarter of my account.

What drew me to Big Mike's was reviews of people or organizations trying to sell trading services posted on this forum. Most of them stating they were a fraud or a waste of money. I've come to realise that being able to trade for a living is not an easy path and one that takes time, patience, persistence, discipline and knowing yourself and your emotions. I'm at a cross roads in my life right now and am trying to make decisions on my future. Hopefully this forum can teach me a few things and help me to decide if this path is right for me.

Thanks for reading!

First post. Very new to trading. Looking to become profitable....eventually. First looking to gain knowledge / understanding and committing time to the process of learning how to trade. The forum looks like a wealth of knowledge, so it's time to start sifting through it to find what helps/works for me!

Dan

My name is Rick and I am very new to trading, having started in February. I am very excited at the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I am fortunate to have my son Rickey to help guide and teach me, but more importantly, we share a common passion. I am looking forward to browsing this site, hoping to pick up nuggets of information that will help me become a better trader..

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Friends
my name is Paul and I live in Washington DC.
I have been looking at markets for a long time...but now I want to get more involved perhaps full time.
I have traded options and futures.
I was wondering if there are any traders in Washington DC area with whom I can discuss trading?
thanks much
P

Hi Everyone.

Well after 5 years I actually became an Elite member. Good stuff all around. About me..., back in 1984 I worked for William O'Neil and Co, who publishes the "Investor Business Daily". It was there that I caught the trading bug and have been trading the markets ever since.

I switched from Stocks to Futures back in 2001 and purchased my Ninja Licence in 2005. I mostly trade the E-mini's
along with the most of the standard indicators. However, as the tools improve, I would like to add an edge by
incorporating "Order Flow". At the present time I'm wondering about advantages/disadvantages between the Jigsaw advanced DOM vs a Foot Print chart like Market Delta and/or the Gomi ladder. I've evaluated each, but if anyone in the forum has used either one, It would be great to hear your perspectives as well.

Thanks all, I look forward to sharing what I can and to contribute to this Forum.
