Any software recommendations? unfortunately no, maybe google search would reveal some software packages for this. However you can run 3 windows of Start->Run-> cmd with ping -t in the background and see what they show during NT7 disconnect. Try Pingplotter from PingPlotter

The software traces the route from you to the end server and pings each hop on the way. I used it to confirm a bottleneck at a hop from madrid to fankfurt. The software is available on a 30 day free trial. You will be surprised just how many hops there are. From Spain to chicago involved 14 hops to through 3 different countries.
