hello fellow traders,

I'm a belgian trader (trading from a business account) and looking for a new broker, data feed and software to trade the FDAX (only).
I currently have WH Selfinvest as a broker and use their the Patsystems feed.
I'm a very early retired programmer and wrote my own indicator for FDAX but because my data feed is filtered (10 ticks / second) it isn't possible to use it in a comfortable way with the fipertec charting software (not backfilled oether). Their indicator c++ API also offers very little possibilities.

As for the software i have been looking at Sierra Charts and it looks promising, also the application interface looks well organized. They seem to have a new Eurex data feed that is getting good reviews also. As far as the broker i'm thinking IB, but it seems Sierra Charts does not seem to recommend them (some issues with orders i read on the forum).

Do any of you (european) traders have experience with this combo ?
Or what would you recommend and why ?

ty

AMP offer Eurex with various data feeds - all UNFILTERED.

Mirus also offer Eurex with Continuum (UNFILTERED) although they are just confirming the final fees eg will there be an exchange fee for the data via Continuum.

Hello there
I am trading US and EU markets virtually everyday and from your neighboring country
I have an IB account, and use ninjatrader and kinetick with no problems whatsoever.

I can definitely recommend you my broker, it is the most convenient I had found for us traders funded mainly in EUR currency.
I also have high respect for sierrachart: I just don't use it personally due to the fact that I have already bought NT7 years ago and can't justify the need to switch.

I also trade the FDAX futures very heavily during EU regular opening hours, don't hesitate to contact me shall you need further details.

Good luck with your trading.

Cheers
F

thx for the replies !

@Fadi: i was thinking IB too, but Sierra Charts does not recommend them (order issues..). I'll have a closer look at NT and it's application interface, ty !

I am looking into opening an account to trade FDAX futures. I trade from Europe. It seems strange to use US broker (=data going from Frankfurt to US and then back to my platform in Europe; orders the same...sending my order to US and then broker sends them back to EU exchange). Does it matter?

What are the best brokers/data feeds (for NinjaTrader) for daytrading FDAX? Do any european futures brokers match the US standards? I suppose I can still use external data feed for NinjaTrader.

Thank you for any advice.

You can use Interactive Brokers or NinjaTrader Brokerage to trade FDAX. I am not sure how Interactive Brokers routes orders and data behind the scenes but Continuum at NinjaTrader Brokerage does not bounce data from Franfurt to Chicago and back out to the EU. NinjaTrader/Continuum will actually connect you into Frankurt directly assuming it has the lowest latency from your location.

Here are Interactive Brokers data centers.... I use them for futures.

Interactive Brokers

Looks like the Europe one, zdc1 in Zug Switzerland, makes the most sense for you for Interactive Brokers.

@ChannelTrader
When I was in Germany I traded FDAX with Interactive Brokers and, like Blash, they connected me to their Zurich server.

Now in the US I still use Interactive Brokers with Sierra Charts & Sierra Charts' data package for Eurex & Globex. I read the same literature that SC does not like the connection to IB's API that it can be finicky, which originate from IB's API.
I have experienced no order problems to date. I found the set-up of IB TWS and Sierra Charts to be painless.
