Hi all,

I did quite some research on the board but could not find an answer yet, therefore this post.
I am trading with Ninjatrader on Rithmic right now (IQFeed as an additional data feed). Now I wonder if there would be an advantage in changing from Rithmic to Continuum. As I understand the OCO orders would sit server side with Continuum, which would be a big advantage imho, but are there any other points in which Continuum scores over Rithmic? As I trade while watching orderflow I need filterless data.

Thanks for any advice, help and tips that you can share,
many greetings,
Oliver

You can find much more opportunity if simply download and install different software for Rithmic data feed.
Usually Rithmic permit two connections in real time, so two programs better.
For charting - InvestorRT - linnsoft.com - You can try it 15 days and return money back if not happy.
For trading - Download Software - R|Trader itself, it is free. not Pro!, Pro cost $15 month.

Look at the examples of InvestorRT charts: Just follow line, Jan 30 | ChartHub

Only real problem with Rithmic data - it can lagged very large of market burst. So, keep command "%lag" on the chart permanently, better with alerts.

Best Regards

Hello Slava23,

thanks for your answer! But I already trade with Ninjatrader and I will stay with NT, so I am interested if there are any advantages within Ninjatrader if I switch from Rithmic to Continuum.

Thanks and greetings,
Oliver

Not sure if this is of any use to you but...

I asked Rithmic some time ago how they handle OCO orders trading through their R Trade execution platform.
"When a regular order is received by R | Trade Execution Platform (rithmic’s trading infrastructure), it is checked for many things including authentication, authorization and credit. Once it passes these checks, if the transaction type (buy, sell, stop, …) is supported by the exchange then it is forwarded to the exchange immediately. If the transaction type is not supported by the exchange then it is held on our servers until the criteria is met for its release to the exchange. this behavior is independent from the screen or program used to submit the order.

Strategies which require the release or cancellation of an order based upon the filling or completion of another order are handled a bit differently. In the case of a bracket order, the entry order is submitted to the exchange as described above and the bracket portion sits on our servers until the entry order is filled (or partially filled). As the entry order gets filled the bracket orders are then submitted to the exchange.

The main thing is that the orders are not sitting on your computer until the release criteria is met. They are either at the exchange or on our servers.

Not all commercial software supports our bracket and oco orders. R | Trader and R | Trader Pro, which are our own screens, do support bracket and oco orders."
So the entry order for the bracket is held at exchange level and the bracket is held on their servers pending execution of the entry order.

I use Multicharts for analysis and data management and R Trade for execution.
