I am currently using gomi's footprint chart and have been using it for quite awhile. I mainly use it for the footprint charting capabilities and was not using it for the market profile. I am seeing some benefit in what FuturesTrader 71 has been showing in his videos as it relates directly with the footprint chart I have been viewing (and its also an easier way to view what I am looking for).
Hopefully these questions have not been asked before and if so I apologize in advance. If they have been asked or if there is a thread that has already been created for this please point me in the right direction and I will read or repost in that thread.
Right now I am using zen fire for data and NT7 for charting. What I am wanting to do is recreate (or get close to it) FT71's charts. Is gomi's volume ladder able to do this? My thought is its not as robust but I may be wrong. Also I dont know how easy it is to import all the correct back data so I can get a proper continuous profile. On top of this with NT7 (correct me if I am wrong) if I do not catch that days data, NT7 will not update me with the correct bid/ask data for that day so my profile will be incorrect.
My other option is using investor RT which is 55$ (I dont think I need the pro version to do most of what FT71 accomplishes) a month and I can power it with zen fire for the real time feed. I think I would then need to pay for the DTN backfill option for another 15$ a month to get the proper backfill data and also be able to fill in days that I miss or data glitches etc. I realize that feeing IRT with zen fire is not the best option but to get started I have read/heard it would be ok?
I would appreciate any ones input on this as I am hoping that this has been tackled by a few other traders here who are using Gomi's ladder or IRT (or have coupled the two together). I will still be using gomi's ladder for the ladder aspect but I see value in being able to see both the larger profiles and the micro profiles and I dont think Gomi's can do that.
