Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

BMT is fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

There is a substantial risk of loss in trading commodity futures and options. Past performance is not indicative of future results. The opinions expressed here are those of Gary Fullett, and are not to be taken as a recommendation to buy or sell commodity futures or options. This is for educational purposes only.

Managed to hold through the wiggles for the container to play out,
not quite sure what fractal I'm on but got direction correct.
By that I mean the thin black could be thick, but in essence it doesn't matter
up to the point that I know...or know that I know etc..etc.. lol

Looking to cover this long shortly.

hmm..i was mindful that the thin black container could have been thick.
That was correct and have changed the thichness.

My exit of last long at 53.75 was there for the beginning of this down Red
container.

I haven't been in it.
Very disapointing.
Beyond a certain point I knew what I had but price had moved too
quickly I didn't want to chase it.

I ought to have shorted with a view to covering if it was a retrace,
and holding if it was a reversal (which it transpires it is).

Note to self:
Have to stay ahead of the market in my mind:

Lets see how this Red container plays out.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
6)

Fundamentals...

@tigertrader - thought you might be interested in this. Freely available economic numbers for the whole world. Updated bi-weekly by a company headed by Warren Mosler. Warren is another guy, like Bill Mitchell, who is a proponent (practitioner?) of MMT. As an aside, his ideas are worth studying.

Anyway - check out this pdf.
