Submitted by tastudios on NT. I was looking for this indicator and thought it might be useful with Gomi's stuff.
Plots the price at which highest number of contracts or shares were traded at any given time. It is also the maximum point on a volume profile. The PVP resets at the start of every new session.
Hey Elite Circle Members!.. I wanted to go ahead and share something that Big Mike wrote for me that may help you in your trading. This indicator utilizes Volume, Stochastics, and Reversal Bars, to plot out potential reversals in the market.
Some recent posts have been talking about OBV. I have been on a Divergence kick lately, so decided I wanted to write an OBV Divergence indicator. It turned out pretty well, so I am releasing it here.
This is for VIP Users Only. Please do not share it or post it elsewhere.
Divergence is when one thing is doing the opposite of another thing.
Here, if OBV is rising, yet the period price is falling, that is a divergence down. It will print a Magenta square.
If OBV is falling, yet the period price is rising, that is divergence up. It will print a Cyan diamond.
What does this mean? It means 'watch out'. When divergence is printing you should be very careful with your trades. Once divergence STOPS printing, it is important to see how the divergence was reconciled. Was the next print afterwards a DOWN movement, or an UP movement? In general, you should trade in that direction.
But, there are a few things to remember. The zero line here is important. Below zero typical means shorts only, above zero typically longs only. As always you should rely on more than one time frame to make trade decisions.
In the screen shots, the OBV Diver is the bottom panel. Attached is the indicator as well. I look forward to your input. (btw, the top panel shows the Wave indicator which I also just published).
This is the same as Cory's "VolumeStopv3" but it allows you to choose which of 4 types of price/volume patterns will be indicated on the chart. In Cory's original version the 3 types of volume expansion patterns are bundled into one.
This is a fantastic Volume based Trend indicator that i have found to be amazing.
It is i think by far, the best tracking volume indicator, i have seen through the years i have been trading.
I am trying to make a system that is based on the Green and Orange signals of effective volume (not the cyan ones) but i am no programmer so i can't do it .
I added the Zeller shark below as it matches through another avenue the signals i try to attain. As you can see they come pretty close, again as i can;t program i can't even make the _Zeller Shark indicator to fire the proper signals.
Imagine that even with the spikes of Zeller indicator and Effective voume combined
i get a decent autotrading system that keeps loosing money on the "bllody" spikes but makes it back afterwards on the runs.
I always use renko bars in all trading and autosystems i make.
So if anyone can make a system or a plain indicator that we can use from effective volume (green and orange signals) i would be really obliged.
Take care all and all the best.
Thanks Big Mike for an astounding site and effort...
inspire by Better Emini stop volume indicator but I add many changes to eliminate or include some of reversals that the original miss.
here is version 2 with RJay help it also colors the vol bar.
note: it seems works better on 5m or RJay no gap range bar.
It provides a overviw of Volume at peaks. So that are possible Turning points. It better works on 5Min, 10Min and Range 6 Charts. Its signals can only be considered when some other indicators are also supporting. It generate signals at Bar Close.

December 20th, 2009 02:34 AM cclsys Thanks. I am still hoping someone can find a way to plot the day PVP bar-by-bar. I think this would be extremely helpful
, not so much for live trading but for historical review of methods using current day PVP.
