I can't download it for some reason. It just keeps bringing me back to the same page. Can you email it to me? The regression uses all data that is given to it. In esignal all I had to do was set the standard deviations to for example 2 standard deviations from the mean regression line, choose zero to use all data, instead of just for example a 30 bar period like NT, and that's it, but I also plotted 7 other lines at various standard deviations. In quotetracker it asked for %change and I used zero, and for width I used the # of standard deviations, and putt zero for # of ticks. One important thing is I need to be able to make the mean regression transparent.

Using all data for a regression line does not make any sense. You will want to select the period of your indicator independently form the chart lookback period.

If you want to add further lines with other multiples of the standard deviation, you would need to modify, that is recode the indicator.

I would join but I do not know if this indicator is what I need anything else and I do not need anything because I have a system that I designed that works for me, I am just trying to move over to ninjatrader from quotetracker. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

As for your last statement fat tails, it works for me, so whether it makes senses or not does not make much of a difference. I find when something doesn't make sense to the majority of people, it is probably what I am looking for in terms of the market.

Would anybody be able to modify Fat tails regression channel indicator in the download section to show a change of colour for upward and downward sloping lines?

thanks

I just downloaded it and made a quick modification. The V3 version is now in the downloads section.

Danny, I tried it out but it seems to not change colour with the slope, is it just my system or did it work for you, thanks again..

I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. On my charts the lines change color as they move through horizontal. Maybe it only works for me

@eDanny: The color change only works, if you are scrolling forward. But if you apply the channel to a chart and then scroll backward, it keeps the colour irrespective of the slope of the channel.

The modification for changing the color according to the slope should be made within the section of the custom plot and not within OnBarUpdate(). You could simply do that by comparing the two variables yPos and yPos2.

Thanks for pointing that out Harry. I knew it worked real time but didn't even think about it in a scrolling chart. An updated indicator is in the downloads.
