I'd like to know how to code an indicator such as an MA so it's based on say a 400 tick chart, but then be able to be added to a 4 range chart. If anyone knows about Ninja functions that can enable this or know of some links to find out about how to do this. Thanks.

You don't need any custom indicator:
- add the same instrument with a different timeframe in your chart (400 ticks for ex.)
- let it be displayed in panel 1 with transparent candles
- add your SMA on the 400 ticks data serie

It might look like
