Hello
I came from Tradestation because Ninja is free and so is data.
I have been experiencing from time to time, Ninja freezing somewhat similiar to Tradestation
I thought Ninja was better at this and wanted some opinions of some of you who are more experienced with Ninja
I also do have like 8 to 10 charts open with 2 trading doms. Does this usually affect things?
Should I have separate workspaces for each thing rather than just keep them all open?
Just wondering since this is in C# language if it has a harder time with more charts open at same time----or if it is just zenfire? Maybe if I used IB it would not freeze as much?
thanks
Spencer
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Yesterday I tried adding a few indicators to my chart. I have 1 chart for ES, CL, & Euro. And I have 2 DOMs for each, one for sim and one for real. NT couldn't handle it. It'd freeze up whenever there was a lot of volume. Now the indicator is probably computationally intensive, but I run 20+ charts on Tradestation using a very similar indicator and it works without any problems. After missing a second trade I decided to use TS for all my charts and using NT just for the DOM. That seems to work ok.
NT is in many ways much better than TS, but TS is fast and reliable and that's really important for me. Unfortunately TS is dying a slow death (no innovation, just coasting on their success).
If you're consistently profitable then the cost of TS is not that much. I pay about $300/month for the platform and data. If you're not profitable then it's probably better to start with NT and save $300/month.

hi
yes, I have a gaming computer with Q6600 intel processor and 4 gig ram. It does not happen all of the time. For some reason, my experience with Tradestation is that it can handle more than Ninja, but Tradestation just does not have the trade management that ninja has
Spinnybobo - make sure there are no work spaces running in the background. It is easy over time for previously used / saved work spaces to accumulate in the background.
Check this by going to the Control Center . . . select workspaces . . . . .in the drop down window located below "Save Workspace As . . . " you will see all work spaces currently running. Click on each work space that you are not currently using - then go back to File . . . Workspace . . . and select Close Workspace. Repeat this process for each of the Work Spaces that you are NOT using.
