ive just tried the new version, and made sure to reload the ninjascript on the charts, but i am still getting the alerts in a range and i have 'offset for alerts' set to 0. here is the video i made to show you.

you can fastforward to the 1minute mark to see where it happens..

Untitled - madLyfe's library

What period did you use for the PaceOfTape indicator, and what period did you use for the PaceOfType input values used for anaLineAlertsOnIndicator? If you selected 15 for your indicator and 30 (default value) for the input series, the alert will not match.

Have tested it here, and the alerts were triggered as expected.

@ madLyfe:

The input series for the indicator anaLineAlertsOnIndicator is another indicator, PaceOfTape.

Which period did you select for that indicator PaceOfTape as input parameter? Did you change it from 30 to 15 as well?

currently i have the exact settings ive shown in the pictures above. so if i understand correctly the input series is the 'TF 9-11 (10tick)' for the input series for the pace of tape.

Your picture above does not show the period of the indicator, which you have selected as input series for anaLineAlertsOnIndicator. Please see the red circles on my post.

Yes, the indicator anaLineAlertsOnIndicator performs its calculation on the input series, not on any other indicator which is just displayed on your chart by conincidence.

So if the input series has a period of 30 (default), the calculations will be performed on TapeOfPace(30) and not on TapeOfPace(15). In your case you need to synchronize the input series and the indicator displayed on panel 2.

No problem. During your quest I have changed the indicator code to allow for more precise triggering of the alert.

Even if you do not need it, somebody else will appreciate the improvement.

can you explain what you mean by allowing for more precise triggering of the alert? i just like hearing about development. ;-)

i am going to use it for what i intentionally downloaded it for, it was just this situation with the paceoftape indicator that was hanging me up..

anyways, thanks again for your help and all of your coding!
