Hi Fattails,

regarding your anaTSI indicator:
What is the period defined to calculate the momentum? q=2? Is it adjustable somewhere?

Might it be possible to change the colours of the histogram depending whether the values are negative or positive?

Thank you very much

@guw75,

If you want to get someone's attention, add "@" to their Futures.io handle. In this case "@Fat Tails" (space between "Fat and Tails"), else they may not see your post.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

The momentum period is 1. It cannot be changed. It would not be difficult to add a parameter to the indicator that allows for ajdusting the momentum period. Why would you like to change it?

As to my knowledge, Blau has always use the price change from the prior to the current bar.

If you wish to color the histogram, you would need to add a few lines to the code. Easy to do as well.

Blau has used 1day momentum. thats true. I just saw it in a metastock formula, that it is adjustable there

I have updated the indicator. The new version can be found here:

The updated indicator has several new features added:

- You may select a momentum period greater than 1.
- There is now a choice of more than 30 moving averages which can be used for the double or triple smoothing.

The parameter structure of the indicator has changed. This means that anyone who has called the old version of the anaTSI from another indicator or strategy needs to adapt the indicator call to be in line with the new parameter structure.

The chart attached shows a TSI where momentum was double smoothed with a 2-pole Butterworth filter. The signal line was obtained as the ADXVMA of the TSI.

@fattails

Very good. Thanks for your support.

Regarding the colouring of the histogram. I have compared the anaTSi vs. the WizBlauDSS3 which is programmed by you as well to identify the required changes. I have to admit I am certainly not a programmer. It seems to be quite some changes necessary. It would be great if you could advise...

I am not the author of the WizBlauDSS3. Maybe it is based on one of my versions of the Blau Double Smoothed Stochastics.

My own version of the DSS does not have different colors for the histogram up and down. I am not very fond of all those color plays.

You could copy the code from any indicator which does the histogram coloring. You just need to copy a few lines.
