I think that the acceleration is a common divisor for the fast and slow period of the MACD. In my opinion it is redundant.

For example if you use fast = 12, slow = 26, acceleration = 2, the values 12 and 26 will be divided by 2, so it would be the same as fast = 6, slow = 13, acceleration = 1.

If anyone knows better, please correct me.

Hi emini,

I took a quick peek at the code.

The "Acceleration" variable is defined as a double.

As a decimal it appears to have the ability to increase or decrease the deflection of the MACD values from the zero line.

Default value is 1. - no change in deflection.

A value of 2 will reduce values of deflection from zero by 50%

A value of .5 will double the values of deflection from zero.

I hope this helps,

RJay

Yes, some of my very first NT code, I am a bit embarrassed to even look at it now...

sorry for ignorance. But can you give em an example of deletion of Acceleration, what would be slow and fast MAs, say when acceleration is 2 and 1.5
