I have looked at the examples of @aslan who has done some great work with custom bar types for NT, but can't seem to get this to work. It does not show up in the list of types in NT after a restart.
I basically want to copy the Volume bar type, as given in BarTypes.cs, but make one modification. Just copying the VolumeBarType class from the BarTypes.cs file, I put this code in a new file, renamed everything to VolumeBarPlusType, and changed the base(PeriodType) to a random Custom7 value. Attached is the file without any real mods, I just want to see if I can get it to show up first. Is there any reason this should not show up in the list of available options in NT?
I have asked NT but unfortunately they have no documentation on creating custom bar types.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I recall a post somewhere identifying a file location in NT7 where you could see a summary of your custom bar type assignments to any of Custom 0-9, and Final 0-4 locations. I want to know which location on my system is empty to install another custom bar type, short of opening all the source codes.
Anyone knows where that information in NT7 files might be? My search did not help.
Hi @aligator, I happened upon this by accident once.
When you are in the "data series" window and after you select a "type" then right click on it and it will tell you which spot is being occupied by that selection.
Hope that made sense and helps.
