Does anyone successfully use Chart Trader with TDAmeritrade? It works great in Sim mode, but does not sync right. I can place an initial trade, but cannot move StopLoss or Targets.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Not sure if I remember this correctly as it has been a few years since using my NT7 with TDAmeritrade but here goes.
Using and ATM strategy enters in your order as an OCO order for Stop Loss and Target orders. With other TDAmeritrade and their API allowed to NT7 you are not able to move OCO orders once placed. The work around to this was to place each one of my orders for Stop Loss and Target separately. This is truly a pain if you are scalping but manageable if you are going for points instead of ticks in a trade. I think that I was able to move the manually placed orders without having to cancel each time as well, but can't remember for sure.
I don't know if this is still true today. Best to contact NT7 Support and get an updated story as to the API support from TDAmeritrade to NT7.
Oh my final solution to the problem was that I opened an account with a broker that works better with NT7, and for my TDAmeritrade accounts I use TDAmeritrade software.
