I am using an indicator named dValueArea to plot the MP lines on 5, 15, and 60 minute charts for NQ. I am using two data series, xx minute and 30 minute. They both are plotted on panel 1, the 30 min. is made transparent. When the chart is setup and I input the dValueArea indicator, the MP lines will appear for 1 sec. and then disappear.
This same indicator I use for CL and ES. It is hit or miss if the indicator will work or not in any chart that has two data series. It works every time in a chart with only one data series (30 min. chart). I have tried different templates to no avail. I have saved the template that is working on 1 chart and tried to apply to a new chart or to an existing chart with two data series, nothing seems to make this indicator work with reliability. I have tried multiple combinations to try and pinpoint a pattern of non-function.
I have 9 charts with two data series (5, 15, 60 min charts) in 3 contracts (ES, CL & NQ). Out of those 9 charts there are currently 2 of them working, tomorrow it may be 3 or 1 - totally random.
Any ideas? Thank you.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks for the question Mike. I do not know, I didn't know that I had such a thing available to me on NT. I have left the office and don't have access to my trading computer until tomorrow morning. I will search futures.io (formerly BMT) and see how to access the log tonight. Thank you.
@silver99, just go to MyDocuments/Ninjatrader7 and there is a folder called "log". In that folder you will see log files for each day - "log.2014.month.day", so just have a look at the relevant day.
The file may be corrupt. Sometimes that happens.
Try to download it again and reload it into NT.
NT will complain that the version on your system is newer but load it anyway.
If that does not help, you may have another indicator that is conflicting.
Try to start will a new empty workspace and add one chart with only that indicator on it.
Sometimes that happens to 'custom' indicators and no error shows in the logs.
When that happens, it is best to start fresh and add them one at a time until the conflict is found.

Thank you all for responding and helping me. Here is the log from this morning on first booting up with the errors associated with dValueArea.
The error associated with all of the charts is the same. It is:
Error on plotting indicator 'dValueArea', Please check the 'onbarupdate' or the 'plot' method: Index was out of range. Must be a non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
I have uploaded my dValueArea settings, but I don't see at first look what the error is referring to in the indicator settings.
I will start researching what the error means. Thanks again!
