Zondor, Help!

Your chart looks so nice & easy to read. Here's mine (TF 09-10) from today using 12 MedianRenko & 4 MedianRenko data series. All F*****D up! and the indicators are unreadable, too. Did Ninja intend it to look this way? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

My NinjaTrader 7 does not have MedianRenko. Could it well be that this is a custom indicator? You would then need to contact the author of the indicator.

"I believe the problem we were having & describing was having 2 data series on the SAME CHART. Not 2 different charts. As far as I know you cannot have 2 data series on the SAME chart in NT 6.5. Only NT 7 offers this & it does not seem to work properly - yet." - The Wizard

Underlined portion is indeed the case. And in NT6.5 you can't display indicators based on added data series, because the Add() method only works in strategies, not in indicators.

However in NT7 I am finding that such indicators, where a secondary data series is ADD()ed, do work well enough to be reliably useful.

NinjaTrader 7 allows to use indicators on indicators and indicators on secondary data series. Below is a special example.

I use the dValue indicator (MarketProfile) on a 30 min chart. However I want that the TPOs are calculated from a 5 min chart to improve the resolution of the profile. For this case I add a secondary data series of the same instrument, display the secondary data series on the first panel together with the primary data series, set the candles of the secondary dataseries to transparent and then apply the dValue indicator to that invisible series.

I will now get the resolution of a 5 min chart displayed on a 30 min chart.

Doesn't seem to matter what bar type I choose (Minute, range, volume, etc) - After adding the 2nd data series to the primary chart, it always comes out screwed up like my screenshot example.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

The first three charts you posted, have a problem with a session template, because I can see two session break lines per day.

You should not have a problem, if you use minute charts and the same session templates. Even minute charts and different session templates work satisfactory.

You can add PnF bars to that list ... still trying to make them display: IF I add 21 sec and 21 tick PnF on same panel 1 lucky if I can see a day of bars ... good luck doing more than that.

I am trying to lock down the exact sequence of what I am doing and will post it as a bug .. seen it both in NT7b19 & b20 ... not sure before that

Whenever you have multiple data series with independently defined bar durations on an NT7 chart they MUST be plotted against a horizontal axis that has equally spaced TIME intervals. For any data series that is not TIME based this MUST result in price bars that are unequally spaced. That's why you are seeing the ugly charts. There is no way around it.

As I mentioned in a previous post the ONLY way to get constant spacing of all bars is to "slave" the bars of the non primary series to those of the primary series, so that new bars of the non primary series start and end when bars of the primary series start and end. The non primary series will then have bars that have a VARIABLE DURATION that is determined by the duration of the bars of the PRIMARY series.

Hello @Trader.Jon,

I'm also having this problem. Have you figured out how to slave the charts? If yes, please share how to do it.

TIA,

Rick
