First, if anyone (thread starter or not) finds a post offensive, click the icon on the top right side of that post labeled "Report post". The moderators will be alerted to the post.
Second, yes -- the thread start can "ban" people from replying to their own thread. To do so, you must ignore that user. When that user tries to reply, they will not be able to reply. This means for the entire thread -- not just your view of it. You can ignore a user by clicking on their name and selecting Ignore from the drop down, or there is an entire thread about how to do it in the Beginners section.
I note that a "Moderator/Administrator" cannot be put on "Ignore List". Why ?
I've had a look at the rules in the "Beginners section". The rule on "Ignore List" does not except "Moderator/Administrator". If a Moderator/Administrator's threads/posts/comments/views are considered offensive to me, then I would not want to see any of his or her threads/posts/comments/views anymore. I have a case in hand.
What are the rules that guide against a "Moderator/Administrator" that offends and double-talks in the forum all the time ? It is only "da Big Dawg" that should have this kinda immunity, because the "da Big Dawg" owns the forum, and in any case, "da Big Dawg" is cooooooool.
hi lolu,
moderators are here to have a look at "their" section, to take care that things not run out of control in several ways.
so its not senseful to allow the user to ban them from threads.
but on the other hand moderators also act as "normal" members with their postings + opinion.
Basicly, if you seriously feel yourself attact or whatever from someone - you can always use the "Report Post" button.
this way you send the posting with your comment to the staff here and we have a look at whats going on - we dont care about if its moderator or not.
