Not just trading -- but all time spent in front of your computer.

Unfortunately I spend around 14-16 hours a day in front of a monitor. Which I am looking to try and organize and reduce over the coming weeks. The trading platform is only open for about 6-8 hours though, and even then my trading doesn't require much attention.

If i could get all time spent in front of a computer down to < 10 hours I would be very happy.

Crazy # of hours for me as well, 12-15 most days. On by 7:30am till about 5, then a break until 7 or so. Then on again till 10:30-11:00. Eat lunch at my desk in front of the computer. Yeesh.

You know how you see those TV commercials that say "have you or a loved one ever been employed in the shipbuilding, housing, construction, etc. industry? If so, they may be at risk for mesothelioma from asbestos exposure..."

My fear is in 20 years the commercial will be "have you or a loved one spend 10-15 hours per day for years in front of a computer monitor, guzzling Diet Pepsi, sitting on your butt, and stressing yourself out by staring at price charts? If so, you may be at risk for the deadly disease ____, and you may be entitled to compensation."

10-12 hours a day. I've always worked in IT, and use to be a passionate programmer in another life so spending countless hours in front of a computer has always been the norm.

My wife can't understand how after a day or week of spending all day staring at a computer, I can still play computer games for a few hours.

Friends are constantly asking me if I get bored or lonely working at home every day. It's hard to explain to most people that since im an introvert who doesn't need a lot of human interaction to be happy,...this is my ideal job What,....you dont like being surrounded by people talking in an office all day long? There must be something wrong with you. Sorry, getting a little off topic here.

I am definitely in the 12+ hours category. At Least I am not alone.

I spend between 1 and 3. I got into trading precisely so I would not have to go to a job. Too much more than that and I'm back in the old ball and chain. I listened to a webinar yesterday by Dr. Meneker a psychological trading advisor (and a trader himself) who warned of spending too much time trading.
