I think I had more pure enjoyment on my Honda trials bike than on my road bikes.

Next bike I am getting will be an off-roader.

I had a goal to learn to ride and learned from a a CHP who would not let me ride on the street until I could do
figure 8's within a parking lane so I would not be a member of the foot dragger club.

Anyway, When I lost my job and my million dollar life insurance policy I gave up riding - at least temporarily.
For now I live vicariously through my friend /neighbor an ex-Rocker who rides a Harley Rocker.

Been riding since high school, HDs, Hondas, Yamahas, dirt, cruisers and crotch rockets. No windshields, no firings. no saddle bags, no radios, you should be listening to the motor roar and what's around you. All that other stuff makes it a Pontiac without doors, not a motorcycle. I love riding as much as road racing, hope I never have to give it up.

Riding at Sturgis bike rally this year.

Hi Folks,

I was curious to know if any of y'all ride motorcycles. Currently, I ride a 2013 Kawi 650. Curious to if y’all ride and what types of bikes you own.

Thank you for starting this thread. It made me want to ride again.
The only wind I have been getting is from the fan on desk LOL

I had a Honda V45 Sabre 750 for years. I finally got so tired of adjusting the valves on those crazy
DOHC's , that I finally sold it. I have yet to pick up another. I got really good a adjusting those damn things.
I could do it in a couple of hours taking my time

I think I need a Harley before I die +\

Hi

Amongst the fancy bikes, only thing I've ever owned is Honda Rebel, which for all practical purposes is a cheaper version of Harley.

It suits my shorter height better than the bigger meaner machines, but, I've rented and driven all the big names at least once. Better risk management, I guess!

Resistance against my biking is way too stiff and everyone I know keeps reminding me about riding risks and being reduced to a and my usual retort is "Yeah, yeah!! lemme trade;; lemme ride. I need to earn enough to buy a 2 seater birdie"

Hi Folks,

I was curious to know if any of y'all ride motorcycles. Currently, I ride a 2013 Kawi 650. Curious to if y’all ride and what types of bikes you own.

I grew up on motorcycles...off-road riding thru the farm fields and orchards of Pennsylvania is where you'd find me every chance I had some "free time". Came to realize the reason I enjoyed riding so much was the need to be in the present moment and maintain the focus, or kiss a tree and eat some dirt. (Washington Silt-Loam to be precise)

My ride today is a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200 and riding the asphalt still provides the opportunity to practice being in the moment and mindfulness. Things I do differently now is I dress for the fall, with full face helmet, padded jackets, riding pants and boots and ear plugs to "save" what hearing I have left. I've had a few asphaltic close encounters - up-close and personal, and wasn't prepared back in the day and it was painful.

Recently, I have been smitten with sailing on the Chesapeake which also provides the opportunity to stay in the present moment, albeit, at a much slower pace than double-up riding thru the countryside of Maryland. The motorcycle is definitely the less expensive "hobby". I feel a road trip on the horizon...and for those riders in the "seasonal" areas of this great land, invest in some heated gear, i.e. DC volt vest and gloves...OMG, what a difference that has made on extending the riding season.

Cheers

Has anybody had the experience of riding after and accident? I haven't road in 15 years because I put down a motorcycle while going 50mph. I really miss riding but I must admit I test road a bike a few years ago and still got the shakes. Will that pass?
