Live NL $1/$2 and or Live NL $2/$5 as their main source of Income ?

I have set aside a Bankroll to throw my hat in the ring, and give grinding the $1/$2 and $1/$3 NL games down in Tunica,MS

I just re-read and went through all of my notes on the game from years ago, as well as really studying and learning the Pot odds and Implied odds

If anyone has and or is currently playing as part of their Income, what advice would you give me please ?

I have $1,500 set aside , and the min buyin on the $1/$3 is $100 with a max buyin of $300

The min buyin on the $2/$5 is $200 I believe , and I do not think their is a max ( I will have to check )

And lastly please,
what online Poker sites has anyone played on that they can recommend ?

I need 1 or 2 that are USA friendly, are trustworthy, have a good batch of continuous NL cash games, and allow multi-tabling around 6 - 8 tables at a time.
A nice sign up Bonus and Rakeback wouldn't hurt either

Thanks for the help and any insight - Michael

My advice is stay away from the low limit games and focus on tournament play. Take that $1500 and play some 4 or 5 tournaments.

I've played live poker since 2004 recreational and I have played in WSOP events in Vegas. I can tell you this, most players that play cash "full time" are degenerates. How can I say this well, I made the mistake of loaning some money to poker playing friend one time. It wasn't a large amount 5k. Of course I never was re-payed but the worst thing is I can't enter certain poker rooms without being hit up for money by other "full-time" players. These guys live from one lick to another. They go through winning streaks then go broke and repeat the cycle. I can tell countless stories of this. Now are there successful poker players?Yes, the ones that win tournaments then get sponsors to pay for their entry fees into other tourneys. Most of all, know how to manage their winnings.

I feel pretty much locked out of online poker in NY.
I haven't been able to get money on a table but haven't tried western union. I think possibly Blackchip poker I could get money on but haven't bothered.

I think 15 buy ins should be ok for 1/2 200nl if you are playing a tighter low variance style.

I pretty much study heads up NL and adapt the concepts to a maniac 6 max game but full ring is just so boring for me. I am a big fan of all of Will Tipton's material.

Yeah,
I'm looking towards depositing a few hundred dollars on Black Chip or America's Cardroom ( same Network )

And will play the .10/.25 and .25/.50 NL 6-max games
The full rings are to slow for me as well

Will look to multi-table 4 - 8 tables at a time

On the number of buyins for the stakes one is playing,
I know that 20 x " your " buyin is what's recommended, as to prevent you from blowing out your account and facing the risk of ruin ( have to be a winning player of course )

For the Live games where I live, I'mgoing to buyin for the minimum ( $100 ) and at times buyin for $150
So a $2,000 - $3,000 bankroll should cover me and allow me to keep on playing , even with variance and a big drawdown if I suffer one

Bring with me $300 each time I go down there

Darthtrader4beta,
Do you play Live poker ?
and if so, what stakes ?

No, I still have not taken a shot at live. .10/.05 10nl heads up is my game if I could play it.

Right now, I think if I lost 10 buy ins at 1/2 live I would quit so that is really my bankroll and that is just not enough.
