I may be new here but I know that you have been a tremendous help to many! I'm praying for you now and believe that your recovery will be swift and complete.
I am glad to know you are feeling better. ALL of the suggestions offered have some benefit. I do worry about relapses and such: I have had really bad bronchitis 3 times and multiple drug regimes. Now, if I feel the least bit off I start super dosing on what ever my body seems to point to whether it is VitC or zinc or H2O2 or garlic ..or whatever. all at once. Once hit the immune system can take a LONG time to recover fully.
I just noticed on old post from you about respiratory problems and pneumonia.
My suggestion in brief is: Get a CPAP machine.
The CPAP machine is a little box (as big as a couple of books, stacked), with a mouth-nose mask and a water chamber. It is programmed for you personally by a sleep-specialist doctor. It inflates your trachea all night and keeps your blood oxygenated. It has a little humidifier that puts distilled water into your lungs as vapor, and helps them clear.
It is prescribed usually for sleep apnea, which often affects older or heavier people. Sleep apnea can increase body weight, affect the heart and cause other problems, by putting you into a low-oxygen-stressed mode at night, when your trachea collapses and you snore. That could happen dozens or hundred(s) of times per night.
I think this machine is a helpful preventive measure for bronchitis or walking pneumonia, by keeping your lungs functioning, encouraging natural drainage through increased airflow and hydration.
It has made a huge difference for me.
