4 out of 6 children are still at home, so I'm seriously considering leaving the comfort of my home office for a nice loft space in a converted factory. Besides the cacophony of the kids, here are the "other" reasons why I'm thinking about getting an office outside the home.

Thought some of you might be able to relate ...

10) I want to hire a "hot" assistant, but my wife won't let me.

9) My neighbors think I'm a drug dealer.

8) Oprah is retiring.

7) The pizza delivery boy is becoming overly friendly.

6) I haven't showered, shaved, gotten out of my pajamas, or left the house, in a week.

5) Networking to me, is talking to my 3 year old son.

4) My wife thinks I need to get a "real" job.

3) When I take a break, I throw in a load of wash.

2) All I hear is... " Since you're home all day anyway, can you just do this...?"

1) I feel like I "live" at the office... Wait, I do !!!

I can certainly relate. The worst part is that when I do get out, everyone tells me how lucky I am to work from home.

LOL!!! I too trade from home full time and can definitely relate to what you're feeling! Bummer you can't get home office tax deduction unless the home office is part of your primary residence/home.

None of your arguments really makes up for the reduction of your tax allowance.

Some suggestions:

10) Buy your wife a few dresses and she'll assist you (also see Martin Schwartz: Pit Bull)

9) Invite them over for a joint and tell them that you don't trade commodities.

8) Watch "Bird and Fortune" instead.

7) Stop incommensurate tipping.

6) You need a dog to take you out.

5) Stop favouring your 3-year-old and take care of your other children.

4) She is right, but don't tell her.

3) You should diversify. What about ironing?

2) If you regularly write posts on Big Mike's forum, everybody will think that you are busily doing serious work.

1) Put some screens in your bedroom, and you won't need to spend the nights in your office anymore.

Good stuff Fat Tails!

Part of my morning routine is running or hitting the gym - and I go out of my way to pass by the Financial district to see the miserable drones marching to their offices. It always makes me feel good. I will never miss the drudgery of trekking to the office and sitting through pointless meetings.

7) How tight does your chair feel these days?
6) NOW I am worried about that pizza boy
5) better that talking to the computer
4) does she need a real bank account?
3) well, at least you are working off the pizza
2) then wear headphones with motivational tapes and repeat them out loud all day long
1) see #10

Later,
TJ
