Hello Programmers
I have taken c++, java, and now iphone (objective c). I noticed that TWS has an iPhone app. I was thinking how cool it would be to create an app either iPhone or java or something that does the following:
--connects to your live account
--shows your positions, your balance
--a quote screen that allows you to place a trade or manage trades
I am interested in learning how to do this with both computer based and iPhone/adroid based
I know that when we connect to MySQL, we just have a class that has the ip address with the port number and then the username and password.
I think that with live connections, you need an IP address, a port, and a socket or something as well as account number and password, etc..
just wanted to know if this is possible with a Zenfire broker like Dorman Trading (Mirus, or AMP) ?
I ask because it would be really nice to see how my swing trades are doing while I am away from the computer.
Yesterday a thunderstorm blew out my router which diabled my internet connection and had to go to the nearest coffeeshop to exit a trade.
plus, not only would this have a nice practical use, it would also be cool to learn how to do this. I mean, I would not have to pay $1,400 to ninja trader for their OCO if I could develop something myself.
I have not done this yet, but I heard that if you change the tws.ipa to tws.zip, you can literally unzip the iPhone app and view the sourcecode.
thanks
Spencer
