I am looking at [AUTOLINK]MultiCharts[/AUTOLINK] as well. Trying to decide between Neo and MC. That reminds me of one big point I left off the MC advantages list... their engineering team is top notch, and I hardly ever see the crap that NT pulls (reset database, we can't reproduce it, reinstall NT, delete everything else on your computer, etc).

Mike

Or the latest from them for the issue of NT7 corrupting everything and needing to be rebuilt every two days:

Quoting
Development has informed me that your .NET enviroment may be corrupt.
Please try uninstalling NT, reinstalling .NET 3.5, and then reinstalling NT.

I first heard of Neoticker after listening to Avery Horton (TRO) on Tradersinterviews.com. I checked out his site Kreslik.com and those guys are all over Neoticker even to the point of securing member discounts and buying a license for Avery so that he would write indicators for Neoticker. Given the following he has I would expect that the community will grow pretty qucikly. Although this site is largely Ninja based there seems quite a lot of disatisfaction with the product. What would have to happen for the seasoned Ninja traders on this board to migrate over to Neoticker?

Thanks for this thread. I tried NeoTicker a few years ago, and believe that it is one of the most robust trading platforms around.

Been a neoticker user for 4 years and also use Ninja for their DOM. I was really hoping multicharts in NT was worth waiting for but was VERY DISAPPOINTED. I hired two programers to switch my algorithms to NT7 and both failed. NT could not handle it. The plain fact is that if you are a huge number cruncher which I am. I am a Quant Trader. NT just does not compare.

I have yet to find a trading platform as sophisticated as NEO. Tickquest is a boutique firm with not a lot of users. (I don't care about that) NEO uses a lot of brute force for the stuff I am doing. It is sort of best kept secret for highly sophisticated traders as I know a few hedge funds that swear by Neo as well.

good luck.

Do the programers failed because their says it was impossible, or because it was too long/complex to code for them ?
I don't have any examples of things impossible to do with NT/C#, I'll be happy to see "un-codable in C#" stuff .

everyone thinks it has to do with NT's structure, so I'm leaving it alone with Neoticker.

I am exploring both these platforms as well for strategy development (Ninja & Neo). Can any one share any of their experiences to build automated strategies on Ninja Vs NeoTicker and in the end which platform you went with. Thanks in advance.

I'd also like to hear what people have to say. Not much has been said about Neoticker, but it seems like it offers as much if not more than Multicharts.

Anyone using Neoticker these days?

I am interested to start using Neoticker mostly because of the Neobreadth program where you can construct your own TICK Indicator for a group of stocks that you choose... but their forum is really dead.

Does anyone know of a similar program like Neobreadth where you can build your own breadth indicators?

Cheers
