I know the difference between a tick and a range chart. The chart I posted is a range chart on Trade Navigator.

On pdf that you've posted it says that the chart shows 25 tick breakout bars corresponds to 25 trades, so it's what in NT it's called Tick chart. The right name should be number of trades per bar like is in Sierra Chart.

Take your Pips, go out and Live.
Luke.

That is the way I read it.

25 ticks (orders) per bar. Range bars are per ticks in price change.

ironman you're right about the chart type being range and not tick

But honestly after clicking around this software I can tell it's pretty cumbersome. Also, you may think you're getting a deal if you're going with the standard package seeing that it's free, but the monthly data cost for streaming intraday data is more than what you'd pay for lets say sierra chart and it's corresponding data bundle. I know for a fact streaming data shouldn't be 50+ dollars for one platform / retail trader...

I agree with the others above: The PDF example is a 25 tick per bar chart...

If you notice in the example, several of the "25 tick breakout bars" are actually dashes (no candle body),
there is no way this is a range chart, sorry...

LOL i think even the person who made that pdf was confused

As you can see with my picture it does distinguish between breakout (range) and trades (tick)... 25 tick breakout bars are 25 range breakout bars, I don't see an option for breakout tick bars even though that's what they name the range bars...

stuff like this should give you a hint to take your money and run

I uninstalled the software but now I'm curious what they title the chart window for tick bars if they title range bars as 25 tick breakout bars on the pdf, 25 trades tick bars?

That must be confusing. I don't understand why they call range bars breakout bars and title them as in ticks and not just have it say 25 range bars. I guess because they give the option for points too?

@Ironman9973 can you post a picture of a tick chart by tradenavigator for my curiosity please? I want to see how they label it.
