I am using a charting software called Trade Navigator. The range charts compared to another charting plattform like Ninja Trader look terrible. A screenshot is in the attach.

I wrote the support from Trade Navigator why the range charts look like this. And got the following answer:

Because you selected 5 ticks, this is part of the issue. Trade Navigator does not create fake smoothing of the Range Bars. Any and all trades that happen at the same second are counted within the same Range Bar. Which means you can and will have bars that exceed the 5 tick range or bars that do not meet the 5 tick range.

There is no setting or option to change how this is displayed from within the software unless you increase the size of the range bar you are viewing.

GenesisFT

Does that mean that Ninja Trader has fake range bars? I am trading from a 6 tick range chart with Ninja Trader. But I never had the feeling that something is a fake. But I cannot imagine to trade frome a range chart like Trade Navigator.

What is it what I am overlooking.

Thank you

On the chart you posted, all bars have the same length. With Trade Navigator the size of the bars are different.

???

Every range bar should be exactly 5 ticks large in length.

"Any and all trades that happen at the same second are counted within the same Range Bar." I don't understand that lol

Are you sure you have the right chart type setup correctly? whats a 5 tick breakout bar? Maybe you have a tick chart thinking it's a range chart or something...

A 5 tick breakout chart is just the name for a range chart with Trade Navigator. I dont understand that neither.

With my understanding every bar should be 5 ticks, with a 5 tick range chart.

I would believe that data source could also be an issue.
