Hi guys,

It is my pleasure to welcome Jeff Quinto to the site on Monday, November 5th @ 4:30 PM Eastern US. Jeff will be doing a presentation on Overcoming Fear and other psychological aspects of trading.

I was impressed by one of Jeff's webinars I saw on a Mirus Futures website, so I asked Mirus Futures to get in touch with Jeff to ask him to come to futures.io (formerly BMT) and give an updated presentation. They agreed, and will be sponsoring the webinar. The first ten minutes of the webinar will be an overview of Mirus Futures, and the remaining time will be given to Jeff for his presentation.

The webinar focuses on Overcoming Fear. All the topics will lead us to a game plan on how to deal with fear in trading.

More about Jeff Quinto:

Jeff Quinto is a 40-year veteran futures trader and a world-class trading coach. He has coached hundreds of electronic traders, including traders from Hong Kong, France, Slovenia, England, Australia, the US and Canada.

Jeff’s entire career has been spent in the futures business. He is a former member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Kansas City Board of Trade. For the last twelve years, Jeff has trained electronic futures traders.

This should be great...going to have my beverages and snacks and notebook all layed out for the beginning of this.

What a great way to live life...without fear...without fear of loss, fear of death, fear of people, fear of the future.

And I hope he addresses the specific challanges of electronic trading, particularily the aspect of isolation. Trading in solitude for much of the day, and not having the feedback that comes with one on one reationships of like minded colleagues...fellow traders one can bounce ideas off of that ultimatley may lead to greater personal gains in trading.

On another note...Great costumes on your dogs, Mike...You sew them yourself?

That for me is the greatest challenge i face. It must be one reason why so many people want to teach others or create a public journal to lower the feeling of loneliness.

I am more fortunate than most, as I work in the money management buisness, still, on the retail side. However, you would be shocked at how few in the retail money management industry know about investment. Things like risk management or position sizing strategies are concepts beyond their comprehension. I had dinner with a rep from Fidelity the other evening, and when the subject turned to technical investment, he was completely lost. This from a guy who has worked the last 5 years at the largest fund company in the history of mankind. he was far more interested in what I was doing personally in my own trading. Which is fine by me. Dinner was on him...

There are some that do have knowledge. There is a fund manager of a precious metals fund that I met that had a real interesting approach to investing in gold, and gold stocks. His fund started with a few million, and now its over a billion. Thats in less than 10 years. Of course, he is likely goinmg to find something else in a few years. Or retire. The fees off a billion are huge, and he is a principle shareholder.

SO by and large, this journey I am on is a solitary endeavor. Need to get to the Money show to get energized and get some feedback from other traders.

When we were talking about journaling, I really like his simple idea of using a text box to on your platform right on the chart to write down those five or so words as to why you entered where you did, and why you exited where you did. This is even simpler than a post on the forum, because it is right on the chart.

Then just post the chart to your journal so you can go back and review it later.

First futures.io (formerly BMT) webinar I've done live....it was great - thanks Mike! That journaling right on the chart is a great idea (will start with it tomorrow).
