What's the calculation and/or ideal ratio you're looking for regarding posts made to posts thanked?

I think Big Mike usually says that is proprietary but I will not put words into anybody's mouth.

I would have to go find the code to tell you the formula, but it looks at much more than just posts-to-thanks received when determining 'Wizard' status.

The basic principle is simple: if "User A" writes 100 posts but receives only 10 thanks, while "User B" writes 50 posts but receives 100 thanks, then User B's contributions are more appreciated by the community, and his profile status is thus higher.

You can see your reputation score in your profile under the "Statistics" tab. The level is dynamic and changes daily, but basically a score of around 60 gets you into Market Wizard status (as of this post anyway).

I occasionally see a user "blink" between red and yellow, meaning one day they are red, the next yellow, the next red. This happens because they are right on the border and nightly it goes one way or the other. I suppose if I made the time I could rewrite the function to have some sort of a variance filter so it wouldn't take away wizard status as fast as it gives it, but I've basically told myself I am not spending any more time or money on vBulletin and instead put that effort towards the next version of futures.io (formerly BMT).

BTW, the more people that are "wizards", the higher the score needed to be a wizard...

futures.io (formerly BMT) 2.0, I assume vBulletin won't be included in the new version lol

I am thinking of calling it futures.io (formerly BMT) 5.0, since it will be year 5 of the site. The plan is to use IPB 4, which is not released yet but due out soon. For those unfamiliar it is IP.Board or Invision Power Board. IPB 4.0 is a ground-up rewrite and in my opinion is the best available option, after studying all the development work. Obviously it is hard to judge anything that hasn't been released yet, but I really like what they are doing in IPB 4. The second best is XenForo, but it is too similar to vBulletin in my opinion to justify the massive resource expenditure, and they are still tied to the old ways whereas IPB 4 aims to completely separate itself.

One thing for sure, I need to switch off of vBulletin, it is an absolute nightmare to support.

Anyway, all of this is off-topic. You can be assured that once IPB 4.0 beta is announced I will begin the long process, there will be a public thread about it and a long beta period where members of futures.io (formerly BMT) can participate in the new beta of "futures.io (formerly BMT) 5.0" as they desire. It will be a long while before any "switch" is flipped, my aim is to make the transition as seamless and smooth as possible. It will be next year, at best. I will be very careful and very considerate during the transition, no one needs to worry.

Legendary requires >100, it is very difficult to get that.
