trading range on Euro?

Hi all - one thing I've seen before that I wonder if some of you have too - when an instrument puts in a giant up/down bar in a surge of high volume trading, that bar(s) often creates a trading range...

Charles - I think the LIFFE got sent your blueprint for how to run a trend last night. Too bad I slept all night but it looks like it was a profitable one for 6E traders with this strategy. I haven't...

Thanks Charles - that clears it up and agrees with the reasoning behind the filters as I understand them - I might suggest changing the wording of the 1508 rules (for long setups) to "above the cloud...

question on Cloud and 1508 chart

Charles - This may have been discussed but I had a question about the reasoning behind the long trade rules for the 1508 chart. The plan states that price must be inside a RED cloud or above a BLUE...

Wide Trigger Lines = good filter!

Hi all - hopefully these charts are self-explanatory.

I'm posting to reinforce (for myself at least) the importance of using the Filters as Charles has outlined them for this trade setup. These...

That's true except that this trade was at 9:20 cst (my charts are all mst - I noted the CST time in my post). Thanks!

I agree this is a valid entry. I would seem from the 377 that you got a signal to exit shortly after the entry so you wouldn't have to take a full stop.

Reversing would be aggressive but in this...

A Poor Choice

All - I thought this might be instructive for some. (FYI - I'm practicing Charles's method in SIM)

At 9:19 cst there was an ALMOST perfect setup for a long entry. I attached my charts - the 377...

I agree the bar you indicated on your 377 chart is the one that satisfies the requirements of Charles' method - the only exception might be the R:R because the stop is potentially 14 ticks away...

Your welcome - remember the relationship is not 1 to 1. The 52p EMA is an approximation - it will not agree to the tick and will sometimes move differently. Watch it for a while and you'll see what I...

This post of mine was just the type of post I hate reading so I apologize for it. I was observing that the 1508 had made another "w" formation just back inside the cloud. The 377, had a perfect...

using 52p ema on 377 chart

Hey guys - I put a 52 period EMA on my 377t chart (colored white to match the 13 EMA on the 1508 chart). This has been helpful when focusing on the 377 chart because it is a very good approximation...

Charles - you mentioned in this thread that it took quite a bit of time to settle on the appropriate tick values for the 6E using your method - I believe you thought these values were very important...

Another TF Trade

Thanks @Trendisyourfriend for sharing your russell trade. I'm also watching the russell with Charles' method. Here is a trade that setup recently. Hopefully the chart is readable and self-explanatory.

Charles - on that trade you just noted (trade 2) the 377 chart closed back within the ichicloud about 6 bars after the entry bar. It would seem to be a breakeven trade following the exit plan of a...

whole numbers at rollover

Hi all - one thing to keep in mind at rollover is that there is still a lot (albeit less) volume in the June Contract. The June contract is trading about 50 ticks higher than the September contract....

What do you do while waiting in choppy environments?

This is actually a question for all although I'm interested in Charles's answer.

This week has seen a lot of choppy trading - in fact there's been few good, clear trend trades in the Euro. I...
