I know a lot of traders that use different settings, but it doesn't really matter IMO. I've used 5.21.42 on the daily for 5 days in a week, 21 days in a month and 42 days in 2 months. That made sense...

If you try a 5min chart with ichimoku, try TS/KS...

If you try a 5min chart with ichimoku, try TS/KS settings of 96,280.

This will keep you in solid trades and out of whipsaw action seen with the traditional
settings 9,26 on smaller time frames.
