market volatility indicator

Market volatility indicators. there seems to be many of them and can someone suggest which is preferred market volatility indicator in NT and what is their values. thks

Depends on what you're using it for. I use ATR a lot to determine if the market is active or quiet.

If you're looking for a short-term trade I look at the ATR(5) and make sure it's above a certain acceptable value, depending on the market and what your definition of an active market it.
