I use a little laptop and Skype seem to be a bit of a pig now that Microsoft owns it.
There is also a free program called teamviewer which is less resource intensive
Perhaps you can download it and try it

We can share voice and invite others.

------------
What you you think would be good formats for online meetings?

Work together and help solve someone's trading prb?
Each meeting someone presents his system and we open it to Q&A?
Discuss ideas for specific questions?
  • determining the trend of the day?
  • determining stop levels re S/R points?
  • distinguishing between retracements and CIT (change in trends)
trading psychology?

What do you think?

Try using IMO.im a low impact application that would allow Skype capability. Voice rooms usually have issues with someone or many whom just find it difficult to only say something when it is relevant to trading. Many friendships can be formed around fishing, sports, politics but it takes the focus from trading. Often it is trying to get a word in edge wise about entering a trade if the conversation has gotten out of control. Think about using just the text capability rather than voice.

A valuable trading room would allow a member to text their intention to enter a trade and have it reviewed (quickly) by others to see if it sounds logical. Quickly because day traders usually want to pull the trigger immediately upon seeing an entry. So birds of a feather following the same group of instruments is critical.

futures.io (formerly BMT) has had others attempt to set up trading rooms. Not sure any are still active. Issues can be lack of active participants, novices trying to use it as a training room, verbose conversationalists...

Please count me in if you give it a go. I primarily trade 6E and ES during the U.S. Regular Trading Hours (RTH.)

Hi Jmont,

My post was a reply to Bill D's and his request for a meetup via the internet with San Diego being too far to travel to get to North Van, BC but interested in a meetup with voice but Skype having limitations.

This thread isn't about trading rooms - it is for a meetup of traders each fortnight.

(Personally I have no interest in trading rooms. I have been to them before and find them distracting and the typing is slow (for me) and cumbersome - best of luck organizing a daytrading room for your needs. It should organize it in a separate thread ).

..........
peace, love and joy to you
