Why not use charting hub?
Entry Area Jan 29 | ChartHub

Because just like when I click on the link...
NOTHING comes up.

Those services delete or move or require registration to view the stuff.
If you post them on futures.io (formerly BMT) they stay attached to the thread and don't disappear when the external url changes or dies.

When @Silvester17's post received 12 thanks, it makes me sad. It's because I know the biggest problem on a forum is negativity. If negativity is allowed to fester, it basically breeds more negativity and spreads. The reason is not because @Silvester17 is a mean or bad person. In fact, @Silvester17 is one of the most helpful and respected posters on all of nexusfi.com (formerly BMT). The reason is it is simply easier to be mean on a forum than it is to be nice. Believe me, I suffer from this often, when I read something I so strongly disagree with -- the easiest response is the one to attack, the more difficult response is the one to try and educate and explain.

So when I see that, it makes me sad because it's like a daisy chain event where people get fixated on this "event" and use this "event" to get negative about other events on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT), and it just becomes a snowball effect where eventually people start leaving or threatening to leave because of the negativity.

nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) was created to be a positive and helpful place. For this reason, I reached out to @Silvester17 and tried to explain my belief and much of what I wrote above, thanked him immensely for his contributions, but also asked him to be aware of the "snowball effect" on negativity. Unfortunately he has not made any further posts on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) after I contacted him.

Mike

I have to say I'm still a little confused. especially about this part in your pm:

However, lately (last year or so) I can't help but notice an ever increasing amount of negativity in your posts or actions regarding nexusfi.com (formerly BMT)

I wasn't aware I was bringing that much negativity to bmt. and it certainly wasn't my intention.

anyway I got that pm right after I "thanked" a post by @Zondor (btw he got the exact same pm as I did):

that post is in the vendor review section. I always thought a vendor is a vendor and you can share your view, good or bad. but it seems because that certain vendor is also a bmt sponsor, it changes a few things. but still, my "action" was intended for the vendor and not bmt.

as a side note. why not removing that "thanks" option? I already mention that a long time ago. it would not only solve the problem above, it would also stop the complaining about "why don't I get more thanks for my wonderful posts"? it's anyway not representative, some posters only need to fart and receive 20 "thanks".

about my post you mentioned. I wrote that post because:

- someone made an insulting post (btw that poster has a history of arrogant posts)
- you defended that insulting post by saying the rest was helpful
- someone else said why care if the language is unsavory

so, I'm still not convinced that my post is the one with negativity.

I do understand and agree that it's impossible to make everybody happy. instead I would rather like to see that every member is treated the same way. same rules for everybody. it's normal that you like some members better than others, that's a human thing. but the rules should be the same imho.

as @timefreedom correctly said, it's your forum, you make the rules. and I certainly will obey them.

I sent the message because of a pattern of reinforcing negative behavior like zondors post.

Zondor has made his thoughts about TST well known. He was just posting to bash them some more and he knew it would illicit a response, look at the end of his post.

I posted a reply in the thread that made it clear where I stand.

Users like you mistakenly think sponsors are given special rights in posts in exchange for paying me. In fact the exact opposite is true. I tell all sponsors they receive no special rights to promote their products in posts. Ask any of them, I've made it very clear.

Contrast this with another forum that doesn't allow a vendor to be discussed unless that vendor pays. Once they pay, the vendor can post or promote at their leisure.

On nexusfi.com (formerly BMT), vendors have been banned for not following rules.

Everyone is so quick to assume it's done kind of protection money or I defend vendors, and those people couldn't be more wrong.

Countless threads exist on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) that would never be allowed to exist on other sites because the vendor would demand them removed or sue for their removal. I've already proven I put my money where my mouth is and stand up for users rights to voice genuine experiences.

There is also a balance required, like everything in life. Zondor and others don't think TST is good for traders, fine. I've shared my own thoughts on the matter in the thread, and I wouldn't call it coming to their defense. But I also can't allow someone to just constantly complain. At some point the person needs to move on, otherwise the community is at risk. People like drama, just look at entertainment TV. It might be fun but it makes for a poor educational aid on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT).

Please do me a favor and post the entire PM I sent you here for everyone, as well as my follow up PM to you.

that's all very nice. but again the question is not if tst is good or bad. and it's not about if you get paid or not. the point is, my action was intended for tst and NOT bmt!!

... a pattern of reinforcing negative behavior...

A thanks can be viewed as a negative vote in a twisted kind of way. I suggest introducing 'no thanks' option to counter this effect.
