Hello,
When I can I have been trading the Dow futures. However, it looks like I might be working 1st shift in the near future. Are there any markets weather it is futures, forex, overseas markets that are active, outside of the US business hours?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Why not just trade ES or NQ in the after market after the Nikkei opens? There is hardly a lack of liquidity and if anything it is nice that it is a bit slower.
Of course you could just trade Nikkei directly but I hate their stupid lunch break.
In case the obvious needs to be stated (and if it is, that's okay, just please be sure to look more into different exchange rules if you are unfamiliar with them):
-You'll have the Asia markets active between 7PM EST to about 2PM EST. So Nikkei, SGX, Shanghai A and H shares.
-Then you have the European markets that kick off. EUREX markets have quite a few options. The German and British indexes offer pretty decent liquidity. Of course the DAX is a much more different beast than the YM in terms of movement, kind of like trying to drive a Lamborgini instead of a tame Ford Fusion in my opinion. Although some of that volitility has simmered down as QE has started to unfold in Europe.
as far as Asia session goes, also highly recommend checking out HKex exchange offerings through IB. HSI, MHI futures are very economical to trade (albeit a bit crazy)
