I was trading options at the time and one of my favorites was Baidu (a Chinese search engine). It was options expiration week and the chart was looking good on the long side so I bought 4 next strike out of the money calls and if I remember correctly I believe it was Wed of the week. I believe in total I was in for about $1600 for the calls. Just so happened at the end of the day Google announced they were pulling out of China and Baidu spiked. I sold 2 at the EOD on Thurs and the rest on Friday for a nice 24k profit. I know there are guys in here that do this frequently but this was pretty cool for me.

well I don't know if it counts but the most profitable trade I did it was when I still didn't know anything about trading.
I was running an internet based company at that time and Google was just starting to quote in the stock market, it was the first day or second of quotation. So I entered in my partner office and told him that it could be a good buy. He answered me that if I was going to do that I had to do big. So I called my bank manager and asked him to borrow me 500k eur to buy google, I would have given him back the next day. So I did with 58000 usd of profit. Just luck.
During my prof trading life instead I think my best trade never exceded 20k and my worst loss about 10k/15k.

One of my biggest trades occurred when the ECB unexpectedly cut rates in early September 2014 - up to that time, I'd never had a trade that big. It was raining money.

My biggest gain was back when I was investing in stocks, but it was out of sheer luck. I invested in a local oil refining company that basically got bought over by a Chinese company and the price doubled. I made $20K.

In terms of trading, I really never made anything more than a couple hundred on a single trade. It's really quite sad actually.

Cheers!

It was on this last Friday , when just one day back I had decided to take
a one month break from day trading. But I could not resist myself. Most
fascinating thing was I ever tried "Add to Winner" concept leaving my regular
AIAO approach. In full day 4 trades done , +3R , -0.5R , -1R and +2.5R.
This day I could not believe on myself how I was trading. Even fascinating
was the treatment in one trade when to limit the loss I reduced position size
in between the trades rather than totally quit.

my biggest winner was in the financial crisis. I was prop trading in London . I got on the big move up ( even with Some TT freezing issues ) and the subsequent volatility when the central banks all globally cut rates at the same time.£33k which was over $50k. i am now trading my own account 1 and 2 lots for a living lol
