When exactly does the Overnight Session begin on the ES ? 17.00 CST ?
I like to use the range of the ON session for possible targets. FT71 refers to his ON Stat a lot.
Thanks.

This describes the overnight Globex session which takes place after 3:15 PM CT of the previous day up until 8:29:59 AM CT of the current day. I include the last 15 minutes after cash closes as part of the Regular Trading Hours (RTH) session simply because OTC transactions on equities and futures continue to come in at that time, so it provides valid price and volume data.
So in his view the Overnight session is actually from 3.15 pm to 8.29am CST.
This can be significant if basing a trade on the ON range since the price on the ES sometimes moves a few points
between 3.30 and 5pm CST, and that might represent the H or L of the ON session.
This statement is definitely correct in case it was made prior to November 2012.
In November 2012 the trading hours for index futures traded on CME GLOBEX were changed. The trading day now does not end at 3:15 PM Central but at 4:15 PM Central. Also daily high and low published by Globex refer to the new trading day.
For me the overnight session starts after the break that follows the end of the contractual trading day and ends with the start of the regular trading hours of the next business day.
Therefore the overnight session for index futures is the period from 5:00 PM Central to 8:30 AM in the morning, at least since November 2012.
