For me gambling is when only luck will decide the result, if you trade at random, I would call it gambling.

A professional poker player will not call himself a gambler but a "professional poker player" and the best will prove that luck has nothing to do with the game since they will usually win.

I've been in sales for some time and that is kind of a game, you will drive arround every day talking to potencial clients and some will become your clients, some don't. You need to make enough to cover the expenses knowing that many will add to the expenses without ever buying anything. Is that gambling or you just trust your work and experience? Every business is like that.

I would not call a casino a gambling business, I would call it a business that makes money out of gamblers.

At the end of the day every trade you put on is a calculated bet. Or at least we should hope so.

Call it whatever you would like. I call it taking money out of your account and putting it into mine.

Deep Thoughts from That Man From Texas...

1. Ahh .. so you're a hacker ... and all this time I thought you were a trader...

2. Every morning in the Serengeti, the Antelope wakes up and realizes he must out run the fastest lion to survive ... every morning in the Serengeti, the Lion wakes up and realizes he must out run the slowest Antelope to survive... they both hit the ground running...

3. ...and there was a fish... who was eaten by a larger fish ...who was eaten by a larger fish ... who was eaten by a larger fish... and so it goes...

.4. .. Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword ... Gospel of Matthew Chapter 26 Verse 52 KJV

Good Luck and Good Day.

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"

That is simplistic, as it neglects the reciprocity, which is built into these occupations.

Moreover you have to pay a facilitator first, before you allow somebody else to transfer your money into his account.

So what you mean is that people are paid to help you steal money

... paid to help others to get involved in mutually stealing money.

The facilitators are casinos, brokers, fonds manager, trading educators..... the main business is made up of haircuts, which are all billed along the chain.

I would suggest that lumping all forms of betting into "gambling" is like lumping all forms of trading into "trading"

Basically you can't compare apples to apples until you drill down exactly what is being compared; like for example sports betting and futures trading.
