Hi Guys, I am currently demo trading a scalping method on the ES during the US afternoon session. I will use this thread as a journal of my progress/issues. I won't be posting images just a description of the trading session and how I traded. I don't want to get into a discussion regarding the method etc.
I will be making note of the market conditions and my mindset during the session.

Thanks
Hood

15/04/14

Missed first entry, went long instead of short by mistake. Exited at break even but then price moved down quick and missed the short entry. Entry would have been 1821.25. Price went to target...

Need to focus more.

20min later my internet connection dropped out. By the time I manged to get back online and bring up the charts I had missed another entry. Unfortunately this entry was the one I was looking out for as it was at a level I was monitoring.
At least I wasn't in a trade and with real money when this happened.

Another short entry lined up and I took it at 1829.25, could have got a better price but the trade went to target.

From watching the chart for the last few months I know there's usually only around 2-3 good entries per session with my method so I am a bit disappointed. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Not a good start.....

3 ticks / 0.75 points

The market was slow and directionless during the session.
Took 2 trades which turned out to be a losers. The trades went slightly into profit and then went the wrong way.
Entries were correct but it didn't go my way. I followed my rules.

Just before the entry there was some profit taking and maybe I should watch out for this next time.

2 trade
-3 points / 12 ticks

No trade setups for my method. Spent the time looking into new method on different timeframe.

Did some manual back testing on my main scalping method with some small changes to the entry criteria.
The results were an improvement from the previous entry method.
I will demo the modified method going forwards.

Also have been back testing another method on another futures market. Results look promising and I will look into it further.
The 2 methods might work well together as the timeframe is different and will require less attention.

Demo trading starts again on the 22/04/14 when the markets are up and running again.

Market was range bound and I was out of sync with it.
2 losses -4
1st trade got in too late and second trade was too early.
ES didn't look at good as 6E. Should watch out for range bound markets.

Sim traded 6E and CL to a profit though.
