What's the difference between NT Direct Live and NT Free (sim?) edition?
I got both license keys by email from NT.
All I want is to try the footprint functionality with the GOM/GOMI add on for NT, in order to not use Marketdelta.
I have a feed from Rithmic but, obviously, none of the licenses seem to connect to it as "zen-fire".
I tried to connect to the Kinetic end of day feed, just to see data in NT. both versions seem to connect, but I don't seem to get data into charts in any of them.
A simple comparison list will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
*I'm using Sierrachart and might replace it with Investor/RT.

When you download NinjaTrader, you are sent a license key that enables NinjaTrader (you call it sim edition) for free use for charting, analytics, backtesting and trade simulation.
The NT Direct Live key license key is sent via a registration page that you must fill out when provided at the time you open a brokerage account at a broker that supports this type of license. This free live trading license is limited in that it does not support Chart Trader, OCO orders, automated trading and ATM strategies.
I'm not sure where I got the link to the Direct version but the page was on your site, not a broker.
Anyway, so the basic difference is that the Free version doesn't have live trading and the Direct has... but limited?
Other then live trading, do they have the same features?
Are they bound to a specific data feed?
And last question, since they both connected to the Kinetic end of day feed, but I wasn't able to get any data to a chart, is it testimony to my not knowing how to use NT or that none of them is supposed to get this data?
I'm sure those with more knowledge will help out, but in the mean time:
Re: your Kenetic end of day, as I understand it, will only populate a Daily chart.
Not sure if you were looking at intra-day increments.
Correct, however the Direct Edition can only be used with a funded brokerage account. If you did not receive the registration page from a broker then you can disregard the license. If you want to know the differnences in more detail, circle back to the registration page for the Direct Edition, it lists the features that are no available in it. With respect to Kinetick EOD feed, I would not know off the top of my head, I suggest sending in a note to our support department. They are better equiped to resolve this issue for you in a timely manner.
Your right, I did try to populate an intraday chart
Checking again I do get a daily fill, which won't do much for bid/ask analysis, but at least it showed that I understood how to populate a chart in NT.
Do you support Rithmic's feed?
They are on your site as a technology partner but I can't configure them in the Free license version.
Is it a limitation of this version or also the paid one?
Yes we do. When you are connecting to Zen-Fire or Vision Financial Markets (connection configuration options) you will be accessing Rithmic technology in some shape or form.
