A dose of reality from Thom Hartmann

Quoting
Apparently I ruffled some feathers over at the right wing website Newsbusters when I suggested that today's Republican Party is infected with a powerful strain of Anti-Americanism. And I'm not really sure if the right-wingers are upset with my argument - or upset with the fact that I took their buzz word.

The summary point is - this is what the billionaires who've seized control of Dwight Eisenhower's once-proud Republican Party are offering us today - this is their vision of America. More wars, more billionaires, and a devastated middle class. For thirty years - they've campaigned and spoken openly about their dislike for our government - that extraordinary gift that was created by the Founding Fathers is, as Reagan said, the "problem and not the solution" to our problems. I beg to differ. I love America and believe in America, and am encouraged by the knowledge that most Americans agree with that sentiment. It's time to quit p*ssy-footing around and call the hustlers running the Republican Party - and their mouthpieces on the right - what they are. They're anti-American.

American is being a sovereign, being free,
creating your life as you see fit, in respect to others as you would yourself and your own life.

UN-American is NOT understanding what the definition of "MONEY' really is?

And understanding that whoever controls the nations money supply de facto controls that nation!

UnAmerican is the idea that unborn babies can be killed on a whim of the potential mother because of the UnAmerican idea that the Constitution somehow says it's ok. UnAmerican is the enabling of stealing from the workers and producers to give away to those who will not work and fend for themselves, thereby creating a class that drains from the middle class. UnAmerican is the idea that elevating Islam or other religions but trying to eliminate the religion of many of the Founding Fathers is ok and is somehow in the Constitution in the non-existent separation of church and state. UnAmerican is the idea that all wars are bad, even the ones that are protecting our freedoms and way of life from radicals and terrorists. Go ahead and love your America while trying to destroy her with ever higher taxes, governmental intrusion and control of every facet of our lives, more failed socialistic programs. Me? I love our country too and served my time, would defend this country in war, would love to be a millionaire too. Gotta love the way people can twist things to meet their political needs.

Dan

In terms of what it means politically.... "Un-American" means the same thing as "Racist" now means.

Basically these are terms someone uses against another that disagrees with them.

Instead of debating someone on an issue, it's easier to just call them a 'Racist,' or 'Un-American.'
