A life before Google and nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) of course is documented here.
Found a book in my bookshelf...
Printed 1995 - near 800 pages...
Full of Internet adresses

What would we do without that zillion page book today?

The backlash against Google Reader's killing is gratifyingly vociferous.... including mine, there are now 84,000 signatures on this petition from last night on this stupid alienating move by Google

For me, this is last straw -
Chrome - replaced by Torch
Gmail - Replaced long time ago by Yahoo Mail Pro
Youtube - don't need a Google account for that.
G Plus - never used
Maps - don't need an account for that, plenty of other options.
Search - Replaced by Bing
Reader - Replaced by theoldreader.com

Bad move, Google - you are now officially more hate-able than Apple. Approaching Facebook levels of hatefulness. Anyone know a good android based rss reader for phones. One that's designed as a proper simple news aggregation and not teenage attention span type picture watchers and punchline readers?

So not like stupid NetVibes or Flipboard type interfaces, but simple ones like Google Reader and Old Reader?

Chrome - replaced by Torch
Gmail - Replaced long time ago by Yahoo Mail Pro

My understanding is Torch is built on Chromium.

Yahoo is a terrible email provider. I've had an account for probably 15 years, and I am "Pro" in order to simply hold all my old emails (storage size is so limited compared to gmail).

The forum sends out a few hundred thousand emails monthly, Yahoo emails are routinely delayed many, many hours because Yahoo doesn't have the engineering prowess to make a smooth running email system. Gmail is one of the best when it comes to email, if not the best.

I too am looking to replace Reader.....but am finding near impossible to get one as simple and effective....question, does theoldreader import my existing tags?

@Big Mike: What is Android? I bought my Nokia UMTS smart phone in 2004, they stopped producing it in 2005.

So far I had no valid reason to replace it with a new one.

I use both Firefox and Opera as internet browsers.

I have e-mail accounts with Microsoft (live.de), Google (gmail.com), Arcor (arcor.de) and a few other providers that I would not recommend. The live account is as good as the gmail account. I am currently using Windows Live Mail with 10 different IMAP e-mail accounts.

The bad thing is that Microsoft wishes to UPGRADE the live account to an outlook.com account. UPGRADING usually means that the thing will no longer work. And indeed the outlook.com thing will not be able to connect to all my other IMAP accounts.

Does anybody know a good e-mail client program, which can connect to 10 different IMAP accounts, and which can be synchronized with my Nokia smart phone (from 2004 )?

Hotmail (live/outlook/msn) also significantly delays mail due to being unable to handle capacity or poor technical engineering.

Android is in 75% of phones shipping:

Google founded Android. It is also open source, unlike Apple products.

As far as comparing 9 year old phones and etc, no comment...

@BigMike,

, nothing yet. Spent too much money on phones to throw this S3 away right now. I am deluding myself saying that since Android is open source its not really Google.
But Torch and Chrome (and others) are all based on the WebKit engine, which is most certainly not Google (and Torch is simpler and faster)
Yahoo Pro has done me good with spam control and absence of ads, but I dont use it on your scale so I am happy with it.

@PandaWarrior, Old Reader imports all of Greader subscriptions, and is simple and clean, its purpose is to replace Greader, I believe they are upgrading capacity to handle new accounts and all that.

Almost 111,000 signatures and counting , in 2days!
