I am starting this journal mainly to hold myself more accountable for results and sticking to my trading plan. Hopefully there will be something in it for others to learn or (more likely) teach me. I'm trying to make a career out of this and need to feel a bit more certain about my results before making a drastic change. This will be my 5th or 6th year trading part-time ish.
Unfortunately I still have a 9-5 so i typically only trade the Euro session from 3-7:30 or so. Occasionally I can catch the US open and will do an additional 8-11 session on those days. Ideally that 3-11 slot would be my 8 hour job. I try to stick to the 6e, 6b, and gold during the euro session and then switch to cl, tf, and gold during the US open.
My programming skills are generally weak so I pretty much trade discretionary although I do have pretty strict entry/exit plans with the help of some indicators provided by some members here. I plan on debriefing each day with trades taken compared against 'what ideally should have been done'. I will try to track any incremental trading improvement (or more specifically improvement at following the rules) as a % of an ideal day. Hopefully this will serve as an acceptable intro, I will detail more about my style as I post some charts.
