I just opened a new account which uses Rithmic for trade execution. I know that Rithmic does not have server side OCO. But what about simple stop orders? If I place a trade with a safety stop order and the connection is lost, power outages etc. is the stop order executed if hit or does the connection have to be good when the stop is hit?

Thanks

Orders, as in the example you gave, are held at the exchange or your broker. So in the disaster case you outlined your order would remain valid/live.

By the way Rithmic does have server side OCO, just not with NT. If you enter your trades via R-Trader they are server side.

R-Trader is often provided free by your broker when you have a Rithmic feed, even if you are putting Rithmic into NT.

We would help anyone to achieve OCO server side execution with NinjaTrader.

Hi Mattz,

Can you please elaborate on how you would 'help anyone achieve OCO on NinjaTrader'?

I have researched this extensively and come to the conclusion (with NT employees having clarified this) that it is NT that don't support OCO, therefore there is nothing that can be done (i.e. changing datafeed provider, etc) whilst using NT. I am talking about a fully automated OCO with no caveats (i.e. not having to make any phone calls, etc).

I intend to use TradeStation, as opposed to my initial preference in NT, as a direct result of this.

Thanks,

pcurt

Most of our brokerage providers do support OCO orders through NinjaTrader. It is correct that OCO orders are not supported through Rithmic.
