Hi all,
After lurking for a month I thought I should introduce myself after getting a bunch of encouraging automated PM's from Big Mike. I never participated in forums before because it's always being a very large group of uninformed people stroking their ego's and talking after the fact.

As a day job, I am a Wealth Advisor (stockbroker) in Australia specialising in ASX blue chip stocks and options strategies. I mostly do spreads, covered calls and cash covered puts as well as 10-20 day swing trading using volume profile on the index or top 10 stocks.
I also have a custom built model portfolio on the ASX 200 that uses fundamental, macro and sector filters along with a technical system using volume and momentum to spit out trade ideas - however the ASX has just moved down and sideways recently so not much love coming out of this model (which means no comms).
What I have found in stockbroking is that, thanks to such a large positive drift in stocks, its hard to lose if your timeframe is long enough and you are diversified. Thanks to this drift, you can be a mediocre trader and investor and still make money as long as you keep your risks in check. As your timeframe compresses, skill becomes a much bigger factor and where there is a challenge, there is me.
In essence, this is how I came to join futures.io (formerly BMT)
- Wanted to learn how to trade shorter term, to accelerate my own learning and to provide a better service for my clients
- Got annoyed at MM's for the lack of liquidity and wide spreads in ASX options (we are talking spreads so wide I need a calculator to figure out the mid point, 10-20 points wide on top 10 stocks), needed to find a better way to get quick execution with low slippage.
- Took a look into SPI futures for the liquidity and thought that it was the best thing ever since spreads were 1 point.
- Spent a whole bunch of time doing what I did before (SMA, RSI, STO, etc..) and failing. Came across market profile TPO then graduated to volume profile and my intermediate term execution instantly improved.
- Still couldn't figure out how to execute properly for day trading and kept getting run over and stopped out fading the edges, then came across Jigsaw Trading and discovered tape reading
- Started looking into ES and my world got 1000x better when I found out it was 1000x thicker than the SPI and 100x thicker during Globex hours.
- Joined futures.io (formerly BMT) and paid up to get access to Gomi tools
- Moved in to trading the ES during globex during Euro session
- Still didn't believe in forums but after watching a bunch of the webinars and reading a lot of very good threads on futures.io (formerly BMT), decided to join in the conversation. I watched one of FT71's videos which says I should find like minded people to trade with (1 or 2) and this is the main reason of my coming out of the lurk.
As my session is quite particular, I am looking for someone to trade the Euro open on the ES with me. My assumption here is that not many people do it and I would love to have someone to talk to. The session I'm looking for is US central time 2:30am to 4:30am. If you trade this session, please get in contact with me - would love to have a Skype session set up to trade this with. I also want to be trading with someone who uses similar methods as I do:
- Volume profile
- Time and Sales / Dom, Cumulative delta for entry refinement
- breakouts and fading the range
- Mechanical money management, preset brackets with no touching after entry
I will also start a journal here soon.
Anyhow, hope to add value here and hope to meet some good people.
