Good morning all,

I'm looking for a volume indicator that alerts me if the current volume bar is increasing at a pace that at the end of the current chart timeframe (1m, 5m, 1hr, 1d, etc) it will be more than the previous bar. Does this indicator exist?

What I do currently is look at the clock and back to the bar then back to the clock and try to calculate it in my head. This is obviously not efficient or effective.

Thanks for reading and considering my question. Have a great day.

Mojo

Depending on your platform this can likely be achieved with a bit of programming. For example in NinjaTrader you could easily program this using the bar indexing. Close[0] = last bar, Close[1] = 1 bar ago, Close[2] = 2 bars ago, etc. With this type of indexing you can set up something like:

If Volume(Close[0]) > Volume([1])
{
// Do something
}

Fairly easy to program in NT, and I imagine other platforms as well.

Happy trading,

Ian
