Ok, I have searched a bit on this topic and can't really find anything (maybe I just suck at searching) so I'm going to throw this out here. Maybe the question belongs somewhere else or the info is already on futures.io somewhere (please point me to it, with or without sarcasm, I really don't care). Here is my question:
How does this process of "activating" an indicator work? I'm not talking about how I activate one I have bought, I have done that many time. I'm asking about what is the underlying process? What infrastructure is used by the "activator"?
For example, I use Ninja 8. I buy an indicator that requires me to send in my machine ID to the vendor,. They push some magic buttons and, viola, my indicator now works in Ninja 8 on my PC.
But what is "behind the curtain"? Where is my machine ID being being put and now does Ninja 8 installed on my PC know that I should now be allowed to use that indicator?
This is just intellectual curiosity on my part, not some nefarious plot to "crack" indicators. I'm an engineer, I like to understand how things work (it can be a blessing or a curse).
