I'll go against the grain. I have never tried TraseStation, but I have the multi broker lifetime license for NinjaTrader. I like it very much. I use NT with 3 accounts- Interactive Brokers, NinjaTrader brokerage, and TD Ameritrade. The commissions for IB are low, but for the NT lifetime license they are even lower. I've had no issues with executions, and customer service has been very good
Now I have added SharkIndicarors BloodHound and BlackBird. I am still in the learning curve for SharkIndicators, but I can already tell I will be able to code about any strategy I can dream up. Good luck with your choice.
After some good years of Tradestation being kept live and kicking on a Cloud VM, I can say it's twice a week I find the platform getting disconnected completely, or broker disconnects and only data feed remains.
So, 2 out of 5 working days a week I have to login again in the platform. Connection quality dropped significantly in the last 3 years.
I started to believe platform locked solutions are NOT the way to go, rather a generic good/reliable broker accompanied by your own custom brewed solution. From retail solutions, it does seem MetaTrader (with the right broker) is by far the most reliable in terms of stability, bug-free and good quality.
